Who we are
My name is Kevin Juchno and my passion for trees began at a young age, working alongside my grandfather, who taught me the value of trees and the role they play in our environment. From those early experiences, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to understanding, preserving, and protecting trees. I have been working with trees my entire life, starting in professional arboriculture as a teenager and expanding into ropes and challenge course building and development. My academic journey led me to earn a Master’s degree in Forest Ecology and Entomology, and I have advanced professionally to become a Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) professional, specializing in disease management and tree risk evaluation.
I work closely with my partner, Julie Franks, a Certified Arborist specializing in plant health care and disease management. Together, we provide comprehensive tree consulting services, with a specialized focus on adventure course construction, tree risk assessment, and long-term tree management. Our mission is to ensure trees remain safe and healthy, allowing people to experience the canopy with confidence, knowing their natural supports are well cared for.
With 8 years as a ropes course builder and extensive experience as a certified course builder and inspector, I have collaborated with multiple design and construction companies and have inspected and assessed over 50 courses across the U.S. This hands-on experience has given me a deep understanding of the unique stresses placed on trees in adventure environments, enabling me to provide customized risk assessments and long-term care strategies.
Beyond inspections, I have developed construction mitigation plans, tree inventories, and forest restoration plans, helping course operators balance safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency. Having worked in over 12 states and two countries, my mission is to preserve as many trees as possible so they can continue to provide safety, adventure, and natural beauty for generations to come. By combining scientific expertise with practical industry knowledge, I strive to help course operators maintain safe, thriving, and sustainable treetop experiences.
